Bastante colgado tengo el blog, les pido disculpas a los pocos seguidores y a los muchos lectores que tiene Musical Rain. No siempre es fácil sentarse a escribir como se debe.
Hoy vuelvo renovado, con mucha música nueva por mostrar y artistas de excelente calidad; como el del día de la fecha. Hace poco, llegó un amigo de tierras cariocas y me mostró varios artistas emergentes de Brasil, que por cierto, son excelentes y muy variados. Desde el soul al hip hop, del reggae a la samba; este país nos regala siempre buenos exponentes en cada género.
El artista del que les hablo es un ¿ex rapper? brasilero que comenzó a cantar y a dejar de a poco el sonido urbano crudo de lado. Con tintes de soul, de samba, reggae y un poco de sonidos gauyos les presento a Criolo.
Clever Cavalcante Gomes comenzó su camino en el rap en el año 1989, moviéndose casi diez años por el under, promocionando la movida y contagiando a nuevos artistas. Se mantenía con su sueldo de maestro y lo poco que ganaba en sus batallas como MC, hasta llegó a crear en aquel entones la famosa Rinha Dos MC`s que sigue vigente hasta el día de hoy.
Al sacar su primer disco solista "Ainda Há Tempo" en año 2006, su vida comenzó a cambiar y el reconocimiento comenzó a llegar de la mano de diversos premios y apariciones. "Nó Na Orelha" (2011) es su último disco de estudio lanzado hasta el momento y en él se puede ver un cambio en la esencia de su sonido apelando por un sonido más elaborado, con banda completa y destape de su voz, oculta mucho tiempo tras sus rimas. Este último trabajo lo llevo a ser aún más reconocido por el público y la crítica musical, llevándolo a adjudicarse el premio Video Music Brazil 2011 de MTV en las categorías Mejor Disco, Mejor Artista, Mejor Video Clip, Mejor Tema y Mejor Banda/Artista Revelación.
Me tome el atrevimiento de escucharlo repetidas veces y la verdad que es un artista para tener en cuenta, con un sonido fiel, que rapea cuando lo tiene que hacer y cautiva con su voz cuando el tema lo exige. Con una buena banda formada que lo sabe acompañar muy bien, maneja los hilos de sus temas con una tranquilidad que asombra. Detrás de ese duro rapper, hay una mirada nostálgica, triste que tapa un pasado no tan agraciado pero que supo atravesar y le sirve como un cable a tierra para expresar todo lo que tiene adentro a través de su música. Sin olvidar sus raíces brasileras sabe combinar el soul, con el reggae, jugando con el funk y anclando en el hip hop.
Les propongo que consigan sus dos discos y los escuchen, algo de todo eso que suena les va a gustar. Temas como "Chega", "Rap é Forte", "Morto Vivo", "Subirusdoistiozin", "Nao Existe Amor em SP" o "Samba Sambei" se destacan.
